The Sustainable Forestry African American Land Retention (SFLR) Program helps forestland owners manage their forestland for maximum production. It also helps educate landowners about ways to retain land in families and avoid heirs’ property issues. Our goal is to help Texas landowners avoid heirs’ property and land retention issues and understand the value of properly managing forestland.
The Forest Landowner Conference is held annually to educate landowners on sustainable forestry practices; on programs and technical assistance available through state and federal forestry and natural resource agencies;on the local timber industry and emerging markets; and on strategies for estate planning, including wills and trusts.
